Vellplas Matte Marmorino in a Cozy Eatery
Project Overview
Project location: AhMa Pan Mee, Selangor
This interior is a Geometry design project finished with MacoAvell Vellplas – matte marmorino. The aim was to create a calm, welcoming dining space with a softly textured, handcrafted wall that pairs well with warm timber furniture and modern lighting.
The Wall Finish
Vellplas matte marmorino is applied by hand with subtle trowel movements. In the photos you can see:
- gentle tonal variation rather than flat paint,
- a powder-matte surface that reduces glare,
- seamless, continuous walls that feel crafted, not machine made.
Moreover, the result is a natural stone–like look that stays quiet in the background while giving the space depth and character.
Colour and Mood
The chosen grey sits in the warm range. It balances the darker ceiling and track lights, and it makes the wooden tables and chairs appear richer. Under wall sconces, the finish catches light softly, showing off the movement of the plaster without shining.
Lighting That Loves Texture
Two lighting layers highlight the Vellplas Matte Marmorino:
- Wall sconces create round pools of light that graze the plaster and reveal its texture.
- Track lights run the length of the dining area, giving even illumination across menu artworks and seating.
Because the surface is matte, the space feels cozy, not glossy.
Furniture & Layout
Simple square tables, classic bent-back chairs, and narrow benches line the wall. This straight, rhythmic layout lets the textured wall act as the main feature. Framed posters and menu boards add warmth and storytelling without clutter.
