A closer look at Vellwax Metallic

A little reflection. A different expression.

The base texture, metallic tone, distribution and buffing all influence the result. Select a subtle accent to the relief, or discuss a more expressive reflective direction. Test the effect at the intended wall scale and under the project lighting.

A two-tone sample can look different from a single metallic colour. Agree both the colour combination and the finishing sequence before application.

Why choose this finish

Its character, at a glance.

A useful starting point for choosing the right surface—not just the right colour.

Metallic character

Adds a metallic tint to the compatible base finish.

Layered colour effects

The existing instructions include two-tone applications.

Buffable sheen

Buffing increases the sheen and highlights the effect.

Water resistance

Described as a protective finish, not waterproofing.

Cloth or sponge applied

The existing page also includes trowel application.

Clear-wax finishing step

The published method includes a later Vellwax Clear coat; confirm the complete system.

Finish descriptions are not a waterproofing, durability-test or certification guarantee. Confirm suitability for the selected system.

Colour & finish selection

One tone, or something more expressive.

The existing product page describes combining metallic colours, and the FAQ refers to a metallic range. Ask for the current colour selection rather than choosing from an invented digital palette. The warm metallic photograph here is your supplied reference, not a complete colour chart.

Choose the base finish

The underlying plaster colour and texture influence the result.

Compare metallic tones

Approve the actual single-tone or layered sample.

Review the final clear coat

Check the completed system under the intended lighting.

01

Prepare the base

The published guidance calls for a clean, dry surface without wax, grease, flaking paint or mildew. Confirm that the base finish is ready.

02

Work in the metallic wax

Apply with a soft cloth, sponge or appropriate trowel. Remove excess wax evenly.

03

Buff and layer as agreed

Buff with a cloth or suitable polishing equipment. The existing method allows two-tone effects; follow the approved sample for the distribution of each colour.

04

Complete the protective finish

The existing page describes applying Vellwax Clear after 24 hours. Confirm the full system, drying conditions and final appearance before following that step.

Before you choose

Good questions. Clearer choices.

Answers specific to Vellwax Metallic, its finish and the way it is selected.

Can I combine two metallic colours?

Yes, the existing product instructions describe two-tone metallic work. Trial the combination on the actual base finish and agree the effect before application.

Is a clear coat part of the application?

The existing metallic-wax page includes Vellwax Clear after 24 hours. Confirm that step against the current method and approve the complete sample.

Is the finish always highly reflective?

The final appearance depends on the base texture, metallic tone, distribution and buffing. Approve the intended sheen rather than assuming one standard result.

Does the product replace decorative plaster?

No. It is a finishing wax applied over a compatible prepared surface, not the same product type as Vellma, Vellplas, Vellcco or Stonemix.

How many colours are available now?

The existing reference gallery below is useful for a shortlist, but it does not establish current stock availability or the full current range. Request the latest confirmed metallic colour chart and approve a physical sample.

What is the coverage of the 330 g pack?

It needs confirmation. The published 80–100 sq ft reference belongs to the older 12 fl oz container and is not asserted for 330 g.

What information helps with an enquiry?

Send the base finish, colour direction, approximate wall area in sq ft, project location and intended lighting.
